Baby Girl Nursery Reveal

A Sweet Space with Style and Practicality

Shortly after discovering I was having a girl, I immediately started searching. baby girl nursery ideas. While scrolling through countless inspirations, I stumbled upon a fabric pattern from Pepper Home that stole my heart. From that moment, I knew it would become the focal point of my daughter’s nursery.

Since my husband is in the military and our current home isn’t a long-term assignment, I aimed to create a special space without painting the walls. I also wanted to avoid the hassle of intricate wall designs, thanks to horror stories I’d heard from friends. My strategy? A smart “save versus splurge” mindset for the room’s essentials, reserving splurges for the pieces I couldn’t resist—like those dreamy Pepper Home accents.

The Basics

Here’s where I started:

Jenny Lind Crib
I decided to save money on foundational items like the crib. While I adore Pottery Barn designs, I found a fantastic dupe on Amazon that I loved so much, I bought the same crib for my son. It’s timeless, sturdy, and a total win for the budget.

Wayfair Dresser
This soft, wavy-front design from Wayfair ticked all the boxes. Its deep drawers fit everything, from adorable newborn outfits to diaper essentials. Plus, the understated style blends perfectly with the room’s overall aesthetic.

Keekaroo Changing Pad
This was one of my splurge-worthy pieces, and it’s worth every penny. The soft material and raised edges keep baby safe and comfortable during diaper changes—even when they’re squirming around like a wiggle worm!

Costco Glider
I was tempted by the classic Pottery Barn glider but kept holding off. Then, a friend sent me a photo of a cozy glider she spotted at Costco. I raced to the store and picked one up immediately! It was so well-loved that when my son came along, we moved it to his room and found a simple rocking chair for my daughter.

Wayfair Bookcase
With a small nursery space, I didn’t want to overwhelm the room with bulky furniture. This petite corner bookcase from Wayfair fit perfectly and holds her favorite books and tiny keepsakes.

Amazon Nightstand
A sleek, modern gold end table from Amazon turned out to be the perfect size for the space beside the glider. It’s stylish yet practical for holding nighttime essentials like a bottle or burp cloths.

Wayfair Mirror
The chunky gold-framed mirror from Wayfair adds the perfect touch of elegance above the dresser. It ties the room together and makes the space feel brighter and bigger.

The Fun Part: Decor and Accents

After setting up the essentials, it was time to add those special finishing touches that brought her nursery to life:

Pink Frida Ottoman
This custom ottoman was the centerpiece that inspired the entire room. I worked with a local designer in Kansas City to source a small ottoman, which we upholstered in the stunning Pink Frida fabric from Pepper Home. It’s one of my favorite pieces in the nursery.

Blackout Curtains
Without painted walls, the curtains became a design statement. The Pink Hockney pattern from Pepper Home complemented the Frida fabric perfectly, adding a pop of color and charm.

Commissioned Painting
I wanted something personal and unique, so I commissioned a painting from a talented friend. Inspired by the Pink Frida ottoman, it hangs above the crib and adds a special, sentimental touch to the room.

Fake Fig Tree
What’s a nursery without a fake tree? I picked up an affordable faux fig tree from Ikea, adding a fresh vibe without the hassle of maintaining a real plant.

The Result

I couldn’t be happier with how my daughter’s nursery turned out. It’s cozy, functional, and full of personal touches that make it uniquely hers. Even though I know we’ll eventually have to leave this space, it holds a special place in my heart. Creating this room was a labor of love, and I’ll cherish the memories of the time we spent here.

If you’re planning your own nursery, my biggest advice is to embrace the “save versus splurge” mindset. Invest in the pieces that matter most to you and find creative ways to personalize the space. Whether it’s a fabric you love or artwork from a friend, it’s those little details that make all the difference.
