Rehearsal Dinner Recap: An Intimate Evening at The Broadmoor’s Mountain Clubhouse

Our rehearsal dinner was everything I envisioned. We chose the stunning Mountain Clubhouse at The Broadmoor to host our rehearsal dinner—and even our rehearsal—opting for this venue over our actual ceremony location for simplicity. 

A Day Designed To Celebrate With Our Closest Friends

With so much excitement on the wedding day, I wanted our wedding party to have the opportunity to experience the resort without feeling rushed. We kept the actual rehearsal brief, moving the bulk of our celebration to an intimate dinner with our closest friends and family. In the end, we decided to limit the guest list to our wedding party, their spouses, and our parents. Although we debated inviting more family, I am so thankful that we kept it small. This decision created an intimate atmosphere that allowed every moment to feel personal and cherished.

The actual rehearsal took place just outside the clubhouse, on the mountain with a breathtaking view of downtown Colorado Springs. To add a touch of fun and celebration right from the start, we took a bus from the resort up to the clubhouse and welcomed everyone with a refreshing Aperol Spritz upon arrival. This simple yet thoughtful gesture set the tone for an evening filled with laughter, catching up with old friends, and the anticipation of the celebration to come.

Embracing Amalfi Coast Vibes

For our dinner’s theme, I decided on an evening inspired by the Amalfi Coast. I wanted our guests to be transported to a world of Italian elegance and charm. The highlight of our meal was, of course, a delicious Italian dinner featuring chicken parmesan—Kyle’s favorite dish! I had previously hosted an influencer event in Charleston for work with a similar theme, and I was eager to recreate that magic. I shared photos from that event with Stephany, our amazing planner, and she truly hit the nail on the head with every detail. From the decor to the plating of the meal, Stephany and her team exceeded every expectation, transforming the dinner into a sensory journey along Italy’s picturesque coastline.

The Night For Speeches

One of the most memorable parts of the evening was the series of speeches from our close friends. We chose to have all the speeches at the rehearsal dinner, which made for an incredibly warm and relaxed atmosphere. It was a joy to hear our friends share their stories, wishes, and humorous anecdotes. By saving the official speeches during the reception for my dad, the maid of honor, and the best man, we managed to strike a perfect balance. This way, the rehearsal dinner became a space for more personal, informal tributes, while keeping the reception streamlined and focused on the festivities.
